VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

All eyes were on the stage at the Vicksburg Convention Center Thursday night for the big announcement on Talent and Swimwear winners at the Miss Mississippi Pageant. Laura Lee Lewis gets a win in Swimwear and Alivia Paden Roberts in Talent.

"Winning a talent pre-lim has been a goal since I was younger watching Miss Mississippi because I always knew that I wanted to eventually grow up and do pointe ballet, said Roberts. "And to finally have that feeling on stage to have my name, Miss Tombigbee, Alivia Paden Roberts called as Talent, I'm just over excited, overjoyed right now."

"All the hard work is now paying off," said Lewis. "Hearing your name called after you've been working in the gym, keeping away from the cookies and just staying focused is an incredible thing."

Lewis tied with the reigning Miss Mississippi in a Talent Preliminary last year. She went on to become first runner up. She was a swimwear pre-lim winner in her first year of competition at Miss Mississippi.

"I won my first year in the same swimsuit and I won again in the same swimsuit," added Lewis.

This is the second year 19 year old Roberts has competed at Miss Mississippi and her first preliminary win. But she has participated in Miss Mississippi's Outstanding Teen Pageant for 4 years.

"I've been dancing ballet for 16 years and I've been dancing pointe for about 8 years now," said Robert. "And I chose ballet on pointe as my talent because I knew that if I'd been taking dance for so long, I wanted to choose something that could really showcase my talent."

Preliminary competition for Miss Mississippi 2015 wraps up Friday night.
