Mission Mississippi is a group that's striving for racial reconciliation after the Charleston, South Carolina shootings.

The group invited anyone to take part in a discussion Saturday morning at Pearl Street AME Church in Jackson. People both black and white talked openly about their own experiences, and how to forge better race relations.

Mission Mississippi President Neddie Winters talked about the most productive way to react in the face of such tragedy.

"The wrong way would be to hate, to retaliate, to do the same. The right way would be to love in spite of, to forgive, to be honest with yourself as well as others," Winters says.

Mission Mississippi also conducts diversity training for schools, businesses, and churches.
