FLOWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Centers for Disease Control reports that more than 1.2 million people over the age of 13 are living with HIV in the United States.

Do you know your status?

Saturday was National HIV testing day, and free tests were offered at Safe Harbor Family Church United in Flowood.

According to the CDC's recent data, more than 168,000 people have the infection and have not been diagnosed.

It only takes 60 seconds to take the test and learn your status.

They were offered by the Aids Healthcare Foundation.

"Rates are increasingly getting worse and the funding is decreasing so it's important for people to get tested and know their status as well as know the resources like AHF and other ones that are out there that can help them," said Cody Walker, program manager with the Aid Health Forum mobile testing unit.

Free testing continued until 8 p.m.
