Two arrested and drugs confiscated in Hinds County

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Hinds County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Jackson Police Department made two arrests and confiscated drugs while executing a search warrant Monday at 119 Stratford Drive in Jackson.

Officers recovered and seized one-pound of marijuana, 16-live marijuana plants, a quarter of an ounce of crystal methamphetamine and manufacturing equipment.

They arrested 40-year old Christopher Hammons of Jackson and 34-year old Ashley Buford of Terry.

Both are charged with felony possession of drugs (methamphetamine); felony possession of manufacturing equipment and possession of drugs with the intent to distribute.

"I'm proud of the work of our deputies and officers from MBN and JPD," said Hinds County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis. "This is what we do."
