Vicksburg residents torn about horrific homicide investigation

VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Monday the story of ghost hunters discovering the body of a missing Vicksburg woman continued to develop. It was a horrifying homicide scene ghost hunters discovered.

"Very secluded. Just rundown. It's dangerous to enter," said Brian Riley. 

"They came into the hospital to do a paranormal investigation," said David Childers. "Of course this place is definitely haunted and has a lot of activity and that's when they discovered that horrible finding." 

Vicksburg Police tell us 69 year old Sharen Wilson's body was found in a grassy area in the back of Kuhn Memorial Hospital. Nearby was a blood trail leading to the inside of the three story abandoned building. 

The ghost hunters didn't want to talk on camera, but Paranormal Investigator David Childers told us what the crew did when they walked up on the horrific scene.

"They ended up going to the sheriff's office," said Childers. "They went to the sheriff's office and were banging on the door trying to get in to report what happened."

Chief Walter Armstrong said the victim was reported missing Sunday. Hours later her stolen car was discovered in the Delta. Leland Police pulled over 20-year-old Akeem McCloud for reckless driving. A hit came back on NCIC when police found a gun in the car. It was reported stolen. 

He and the passenger, who is also his uncle, 33 year old Raphael McCloud, were detained. 

The two Vicksburg men are being questioned in the homicide investigation.

 "My heart goes out to the family, Riley added. "Our prayers are with them."
