JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible almost anytime tonight and tomorrow as weak low pressure moves across the state. A humid and unstable airmass is overhead and that will only help develop these showers, like earlier today in Metro Jackson.

Entergy is reporting around 1500 outages in the area, while Southern Pine is reporting about 3600, with 1300 of those in Rankin County.

The chance for rain will decrease Thursday and Friday, before increasing again on Saturday July 4th with the arrival of the next disturbance.

Expect highs in the lower 90s with lows in the lower 70s right through next week. Winds will be southwesterly tonight and tomorrow 5 to 10 mph.

Normal high is 91 and the normal low is 71. Sunrise is 5:57am and the sunset is 8:11 p.m..
