VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

New details have emerged about the murder of a Vicksburg woman. Sixty-nine year-old Sharen Wilson's body was found Sunday; Wednesday, 33-year-old Rafael Arnez McCloud was in court, facing a long list of charges including Capital Murder.

Wilson's friends said they want the community to remember Wilson for who she truly was.

"It was shocking and devastating and horrifying and certainly what we heard here today only adds to that horror," said Rev. Beth Palmer.

Palmer, a friend of 69 year old Sharen Wilson, is describing the emotions she and others felt when charges of Capital Murder, Sexual Battery, Rape, Home Invasion, Grand Larceny Auto Theft, Burglary and Arson were read out loud in the courtroom.

"I think that some of our worst fears were realized in hearing the preliminary evidence," added Palmer.

Thirty-three year old Rafael Arnez McCloud was rushed out of the courtroom where our cameras were not allowed. Family and friends of Wilson stood outside the courtroom praying, and grieving for the one they love.

"I can tell you that she was a beautiful woman and a very gracious, friendly, outgoing, thoughtful, faithful, spiritual person," said Palmer.

The district attorney said investigators believe before stealing Wilson's car, McCloud tried to set her home on fire. As for McCloud's nephew. who was detained in the Delta with him, Vicksburg Police tell us the investigation continues to see if Akeem McCloud will face any charges.
