JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Brandon resident, Kyle Dutiel, will compete in the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles later this month.

He is one of the ten Americans picked to compete in equestrian sports, and just one of the two total athletes from Mississippi to compete against 7,000 international athletes.

On Kyle’s road to gold at the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, the Special Olympics of Mississippi has created a campaign to help fund his Los Angeles trip.

The campaign is called Adopt an Athlete and you can click here to donate to Kyle’ Special Olympics World Games voyage.

Mississippians all over are helping to carry the Flame of Hope across the state as he heads toward Los Angeles for the 2015 World Games.

This will be the first-ever Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America and it will expand over the course of 46 days.

In a hand-to-hand exchange, thousands of participants will run, walk or bike a segment of the relay in this team and individual fund raising event as it passes through all 50 states.

The relay will finish at the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles on July 25.
