Teenage Son of Hollandale Police Chief Killed

The son of Hollandale police chief Jake Williams Sr. has been fatally shot in Leland.

The Delta Democrat-Times reports (
http://bit.ly/1KvxAqC ) 17-year-old Jake Williams Jr., a rising senior at Leland High School, was shot about 10 p.m. Wednesday on a Leland street.

Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson says he was shot in his upper left chest. She pronounced him dead at the scene.

Jake Williams Sr. is running for Washington County sheriff in the November's election. He says his son was well-mannered, well-liked by everyone he met, from friends to coaches. His son played football and baseball at Leland High.

Williams' body was sent to Jackson for an autopsy.
