JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Over at the Mississippi Children's Museum Saturday, something that might make you say "Why didn't I think of that" for a rainy day?

Watermelon bowling! It's as easy as rolling a small round watermelon toward some objects shaped like bowling pins. The children paid no attention to the heavy rain outside, having a blast competing to knock down as many vegetable pins as they could.

It was just one of the activities taking place for the 4th of July, but it's part of a program that's held every weekend at the Children's Museum.

"Our Know to Grow program, which is a program that's held every Saturday at 10am here at our Literacy Garden," says Lydia Rowland, Assistant Director of Programs.

Children were also invited to make special fireworks art projects at the Museum Saturday.
