Man held in firearms case dies in Mississippi jail

Stone County officials say a 43-year-old man held for federal marshals in a firearms case has died from a blood clot after being taken to a hospital by ambulance from the county jail.

http://bit.ly/1Ha1o8o) George Sullivan Jr. died early Saturday of natural causes from a pulmonary embolism.

Sullivan was one of four men arrested June 23 on a criminal complaint in the theft of about 49 firearms from a Saucier business.

Sullivan was being held at the jail in Wiggins and was scheduled for a detention hearing Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Gulfport.

Jail Warden Dwain Brewer said Sullivan told jail staff he was having a medical problem about 11 p.m. Friday.
