Mississippi's Governor and NFL Legend Face Off!

It's called "Hit a Home run for Special Olympics", but it's much more than that. This year's charity softball game, scheduled for August 21,  will be headlined by two familiar faces to those in the Magnolia State. NFL legend Brett Favre and Governor Phil Bryant will be the headliners for the event.

The proceeds from the ticket sales and VIP sponsorships will benefit Special Olympics Mississippi. The teams will include Special Olympic athletes from across the state playing alongside partner athletes on unified teams.

Also on the roster is Patrick House of TV's "The Biggest Loser", Ole Miss baseball head coach Mike Bianco, and former Mississippi State QB John Bonds. Deanna Favre, who is also a bit of an athlete, will also participate in the game.

Brett Favre's mother once taught special education, and both he and his wife have been avid supporters of Special Olympics during their adult lives.

Tickets for the matchup are $15 for premium seats between home plate and first or third base. It's $10 for seating on the base lines, beyond the bases. Each ticket includes admission to the Mississippi Braves game that evening at 7 p.m.

Special Olympics Mississippi will host a 'Draft Party" on August 20 at the Iron Horse Grill. Athletes will be 'drafted' onto team rosters for Bryant's Brave and Favre's team, Hometown Heroes. One lucky attendee will win a VIP ticket to the following day's game, with access to a luxury suite and the most post game VIP meet and greet.
