The Mississippi Department of Transportation is honored to announce that the “Don Linzy Dixon Gospel Memorial Highway” dedication ceremony has been scheduled for Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 27 and Brushy Creek Road in Copiah County.
In attendance for the dedication ceremony will be Transportation Commissioner Dick Hall, Reps. Greg Holloway, Sr. and Robert L. Johnson, III.
House Bill 990 passed during the 2015 Regular Legislative Session, designates and names the segment of Mississippi Highway 27 in Copiah County beginning at its intersection with Brushy Creek Road and extending south to its intersection with Mississippi Highway 28 as the “Don Linzy Dixon Gospel Memorial Highway.”
MDOT will erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching this segment of highway.
“MDOT is honored to dedicate this section of highway as the Don Linzy Dixon Gospel Memorial Highway,” said Transportation Commissioner Dick Hall. “This is a fitting way to pay tribute to an individual who did so much for gospel music, Copiah County and the State of Mississippi.”
