Back to school should include a needle

MSDH wants you to add vaccines to your back to school list

Big time heat in the Jackson metro area and not much relief in sight. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

With only a few weeks left of summer, the Mississippi State Department of Health reminds parents that state law requires children to be immunized against childhood diseases to enter public or private school, Head Start or daycare. 

Plus, Gov. Phil Bryant has issued an Executive Order lowering the United States and Mississippi flags in honor of four United States Marines and the Navy Petty Officer who died as a result of last week’s attack on two military facilities in Chattanooga, Tenn.

And, Vicksburg police were able to make arrests after citizens reported their car windows and business windows destroyed by BB's from a BB gun. A total of 37 complaints were filed with the Vicksburg Police Department between 12 July – 16 July 2015.
