JULIA'S FORECAST: Still steamy, but not as scorching for some

Julia Weiden's First Alert Thursday Forecast

**A Heat Advisory is in effect for only a portion of our area. It does include Hinds, Rankin and Madison Counties. The advisory is in effect from 10AM - 7PM, with heat indices of 105-110°.**

AM Commute: Looks like another easy drive in under hazy skies and lots of mugginess! The sun comes up at 6:09 AM. Temperatures will be in the mid 80s (heat index low 90s) by 9AM.

This Afternoon: Very similarly to yesterday, areas north and northeast of Jackson have a slight chance for rain and thunder. This is most likely along the Highway 82 corridor, but areas near Yazoo City and Kosciusko have a shot at getting periods of rain this afternoon. Activity winds down in the evening.

Otherwise, expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 90s. Counties in the Heat Advisory (Hinds, Rankin, Madison, Warren, Yazoo, Holmes, Copiah, Claiborne, Jefferson, Adams, and Franklin to name some) could feel as hot as 105-110°. Same for the Delta. The rest of the area will feel in the 100-105° range.

Tonight: Skies are partly cloudy and temperatures sink only to the mid and upper 70s by dawn tomorrow.

Through the Weekend: What small chance we have for rain diminishes even further. Temperatures slowly creep up Friday-Sunday and get close to the 100° mark. Skies are mainly sunny.
