Locked and loaded to recruit

Mississippi National Guard recruiters to be armed

Hot and dry Monday afternoon in the Jackson metro area. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

Starting today, armed Guardsmen will be stationed at National Guard recruiting centers across the Magnolia State after Governor Phil Bryant issued the order last week.

Plus, a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of Jordan Jermaine Ickom, wanted in connection with a shooting at Adams Grocery Sunday.

And, a committee of outside attorneys will assist the Texas district attorney investigating the death of Sandra Bland, the black woman who was found dead in her jail cell three days after a traffic stop by a white state trooper.

In sports, Clinton high football prepares for its season opener against the reigning state champs.
