We now know the cause of death for Jessica Hewitt, the woman whose body was found on the bank of the Pearl River in June.
The Flowood Police Department has received the medical examiner's report and the Crime Lab report.
They revealed the cause of death for the 29-year-old Jackson woman as an accidental overdose: "a mixed drug toxicity including Suboxone and Methamphetamine."
Hewitt's body was found on June 17 in a grassy area on the bank of the Pearl River; a little less than a mile east of the levee in Flowood.Hewitt's purse and personal items were found in the area along with some of her clothing.
A missing person's report had been filed for Hewitt earlier that week. Her car was found near Old River Place.
Back on June 18th, the Flowood Police Department released the preliminary results of Jessica Hewitt's autopsy.
At that time the Mississippi Medical Examiner indicated no sign of trauma to the body and no strangulation.
Authorities say the investigation has been closed and no charges will be filed.
