JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A stolen gun JPD recovered during a Friday morning raid belonged to former Gov. Kirk Fordice, according to family members. The pistol is engraved with the name Governor Kirk Fordice and what appears to be the state seal of Mississippi.

The former governor's son, Hunter Fordice, says the gun was stolen from his brother Dan's pickup truck in a Vicksburg parking lot around November or December of 2012.

He says they broke the window out of the truck and took several items, including the Glock.

On Friday morning the Jackson Police Department’s Vice/Narcotics Division and the Jackson/Hinds SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 3111 Ponderosa Dr. regarding narcotics trafficking and illegal firearm possession.

Detectives arrested 39-year-old Delvin Lackey and charged him with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of MDMA, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

Lackey is currently on probation with the MS Department of Corrections for a prior Manslaughter conviction.
