Gun advocates often call firearms the great equalizer between the sexes. Friday night the owner of "The Well Armed Woman" was in Raymond to discuss how women can safely protect themselves.
Carrie Lightfoot travels around the country making sure women have the information and resources they need to decide whether gun ownership is for them.
"As we are perhaps single, or traveling or you know crime.. We see it everywhere. There is no place that it can't happen, Lightfoot told us. "So more and more women are wanting to take control and take responsibility for their own self protection."
Women train together at these meetings, and learn about special equipment designed specifically for them, like holsters that can be hidden on their bodies to conceal their weapon of choice.
