From start to finish The reign of terror in the Metro unfolded over a 2 hour time span. Zebulum James known as ZEB lived alone at this shotgun apartment on Wabash Street.

"She seen him at 4:00 and all the stuff started around 5 so, I'm just glad that nobody in our area get hurt because he was shooting women," said Brian Brundidge who was standing across the street.

The neighbors described his behavior as unusual.

"Strange, as far as weird, said Regina Thompson, who lives in the area. "He sits in the car in and out all day and night. music loud. To himself, but it's just weird how he acts."

According to authorities this is how the crime spree unfolded Thursday night:

Around 5:40 p.m. James drove five minutes away from his house to Watkins Drive and Beaverbrook where he allegedly unloaded on a JATRAN bus. Seconds later, he pulled up in front of this house on Watkins Drive.

Several people were inside the house when James was accused of opening fire, 6 shots in all. Bullets are lodged in walls and shattered glass on the outside.

They were terrified. One person told me he hit the floor after a bullet flew through his front bedroom.  The family was not injured but their dog was shot and is recovering.

5:57 p.m. James'  next target was at a shell station at the corner of Watkins Drive and Beasley Road..  He is accused of  shooting a woman in the head as she pumped  gas.

At 6:03 p.m.  the suspected killer's next target, a Missouri woman is gunned down in the parking lot of Logans Roadhouse on East County Line Road in Ridgeland.

As he fled the scene, police say James hit into a man breaking his leg. Within the hour, the rampage comes to an end, the 22-year old is captured at Briarcliff South apartments on Rainey Road.
