JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

When he talked to the media following the Conerly Trophy presentation Tuesday night, Mississippi State Head Football Coach Dan Mullen side stepped questions about reports he interviewed for the head coaching  job at Miami.

Multiple outlets have reported that the Hurricanes have spoken with Mullen within the last 24 hours. It's not his first interaction with Miami. Dan interviewed with The U back in 2010. The Hurricanes ended up hiring Al Golden, he was fired two months ago. Miami hopes to have the vacancy filled within the next day or two.

"Just because it's on the Internet doesn't mean it's true," said Mullen.

Mullen has 54 wins in 7 seasons at Mississippi State. The highlight of his stint in Starkville is 6 weeks atop the polls in 2014.
