JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County Supervisor Robert Graham will make a motion at Monday's meeting requesting that the supervisors offer a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identification and apprehension of the people responsible for the death of Broderick Smith.

If Graham's motion is approved, that will raise the reward total to $11,000

Thirty-six year-old Smith was shot and killed November 18 during a robbery at O'Reilly's Auto Parts Store on Livingston Road.

Police say Smith was ordered to open the store safe, but he didn't know the combination. That's when police say the masked gunmen opened fire.

"Completely heinous. Completely uncalled for; just a cold blooded cowardly act perpetrated against the individual who was at work trying to make a living," said Police Chief Lee Vance.

CrimeStoppers is offering $2,500, the City of Jackson, $2,500 and O'Reilly's is offering $5,000 to anyone with information about the murder.

If the supervisors approve the Hinds County reward, that will bring the total to $11,000
