JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

After 5 days on airplanes and a 3,000 mile detour, a missing Welsh Corgi is now in the hands of her new owners.

Jimmy and Debbie Cox of Brandon waited patiently at the airport for their new dog's arrival.

"Well the main thing was to make sure she made the flight to get her after what happened before. Made her connecting flight," said Jimmy. "The only question I had was do we get the air miles? I don't know."

The one-year-old pooch left Seattle for Jackson on Friday, November 27. On arrival in Dallas,Texas American Airlines mistakenly sent her on a 3,000 mile trip to Hawaii instead of Mississippi.

Bethany's Seattle owner posted a flyer with a $1,000 reward for her return over the weekend.

American Airlines sent out a system-wide alert about the missing Corgi. She was located and taken care of at a Veterinary Clinic. From Hawaii, she was flown back to Dallas and finally departed to Jackson.

Her new owners were very relieved when the jet landed.

Bethany's next dog show competition will be in Houston, Texas in early 2016. No word on whether she will be flying solo!
