Ole Miss heading to the Sugar Bowl

The last time Ole Miss played in the Sugar Bowl, Archie Manning was at quarterback. Fitting that the 2015 Rebels have a Manning Award finalist that will play in New Orleans.

The Rebels were selected to play in the 82nd annual Sugar Bowl. Hugh Freeze's crew were ranked #12 in the final College Football Playoff Top 25. That's the highest ranking of an SEC team not in the Playoff. Ole Miss finished the regular season 9-3 overall, 6-2 in the SEC. That included a win at Alabama, along with the Egg Bowl and the Magnolia Bowl. Freeze has led the Rebels to back-to-back New Year's Six appearances.

#12 Ole Miss will face #16 Oklahoma State in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Cowboys started the season 10-0, but dropped the final two games to Baylor & Oklahoma.

The Sugar Bowl is Friday, January 1st at 7:30pm CT. The game will be televised on ESPN.
