Alcorn State falls in Celebration Bowl

ATLANTA (WLBT) - Alcorn State rallied twice in the 2nd half, but the Braves couldn't stop Tarik Cohen.

The North Carolina A&T running back rushed for 295 yards as the #20 Aggies won the inaugural Celebration Bowl 41-34. His 73 yard touchdown with 4:17 left would prove to be the game winner. Cohen also had touchdown runs of 74 & 83 yards in the 1st quarter.

Alcorn trailed by as much as 18 in the 2nd quarter. Lenorris Footman's touchdown pass to Arron Baker made it 24-13 at the half.

A throwback pass from Tollette George to Footman in the 3rd cut the deficit to 27-20. Lenorris found George for a touchdown in the 4th to tie the game at 27.

After a Kwashaun Quick TD, Jay Hopson's crew pulled off a trick play. Brandon Vessell found Brandon Campbell on the fake field goal to knot it up at 34. But Cohen's touchdown two plays later would win it for A&T.

Alcorn State finishes the 2015 season 9-4, winning back to back SWAC championships for the first time since 1970.
