JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Severe storms are passing through Mississippi Wednesday afternoon.

Much of central Mississippi is under a Tornado Watch until 8 pm. Tornadoes are possible through much of the area until that time.

North Mississippi has the highest tornado threat.

Storms will die down this evening.

Christmas Eve & Day: Get ready for two more warm and stormy days. The severe weather threat is low for both days, but rain and storms are in the forecast. Temperatures will be near a record 80. Rain is likely especially during the first half of Christmas day.
