JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Two Jackson firefighters were injured battling an overnight fire on Sunnylane Drive. 

One firefighter was injured inside the home when he fell through the floor. He suffered bruised ribs and was taken to a local hospital.

That firefighter was released from the hospital and is expected to recover. 

Another firefighter was treated from dehydration at the scene.

Jackson Division Fire Chief Cleotha Sanders said the fire started at the abandoned home sometime before 2 am Wednesday.

The fire was under control by 2:30 am. Sanders says the house sustained a considerable amount of damage and is unlivable.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

Sunnylane Drive is just southwest of the Interstate 55, Interstate 20 split in south Jackson.
