JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Saturday Attorney General Jim Hood took to Facebook and Twitter to speak about Jackson City Councilman Kenneth Stokes' remarks about law enforcement.

Here is the Facebook post that Attorney General Hood posted:

"Comments or actions that put our law enforcement officers in harm's way cannot be tolerated. Frustration or dissatisfaction with police policies or procedures does not give any person, especially an elected official, the right to jeopardize the safety of officers. We should instead be focused on cooperation and mutual respect between citizens and law enforcement. Certainly, the Office of Attorney General will investigate any complaint received in this or any other matter."

Hood also tweeted a statement:

Madison and Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest had this to say via Facebook: "I stand behind Sheriff Tucker, Sheriff Bailey and other members of law enforcement in condemning the statements made by Councilman Stokes"....

Mississippi law enforcement have also spoken out on Councilman Stokes' comments.
