JACKSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It's the most wonderful time of the year...for our tummies!

For their 99th year, Girl Scouts will begin taking orders for America’s Favorite Treat this weekend.

Look for your favorites like Thin Mints and Samoas, as well as gluten-free cookies Toffee-tastic, buttery cookies with toffee bits and Rah-Rah Raisins, an oatmeal raisin cookie with whole grain oats, plump, juicy raisins, and Greek yogurt–flavored chunks.

Why should you join in the popular trend of ordering these tasty treats?

To support this almost-century long organization that benefits young girls in the community.

The essential 5 skills girls learn in the Girl Scout Cookie Program are goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics—skills essential to leadership, success and life.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest, most successful girl-led business in the world, and its power to teach girls business and financial skills that will serve them throughout their lives is unrivaled," said Anna Maria Chávez, CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA.
