Delta Technical College student leads police on chase

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

According to Ridgeland Police, at 10:20 am today, January 6, a student stole a money bag from the vending machine serviceman in the break room of Delta Technical college.

25-year-old, Rodrecus Williams, grabbed the bag, then fled across interstate i-220 into a Jackson neighborhood.

Jackson Police was called to assist Ridgeland Police at Hanging Moss Road and i-220 where they cornered the suspect.

During their attempt to question him he fled on foot for 3/4 of a mile.

He was finally taken into custody on a street adjacent to Watkins Drive and i-220.

Officials have not yet told us if the money bag was recovered.

Williams was charged with petit larceny theft, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

This incident is still under investigation.
