Gulfport man pleads guilty in stolen guns case

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis announced 32-year-old Octavia Jermaine Winters of Gulfport, entered a guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden to theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee.

The case involved the theft of 52 firearms from Friendly Pawn and Auto in Saucier Mississippi.

Winters will be sentenced on April 22, 2016, and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

Assistant United States Attorney Annette Williams is prosecuting the case.
