JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

You would think they were selling lottery tickets the line was backed up so far at the town hall meeting to discuss BigFoot.

But no, these were people wanting to get inside to talk about their experiences with, or listen to other people’s stories about seeing Bigfoot in Mississippi.

The show 'Finding Bigfoot' is in its 6th year of production and the Bigfoot hunters on the program are making their way around the country.

Bigfoot Hunter Bo-Bo Fay said, "Yea, this is the first time the team has been in Mississippi. It’s one of the last six states we haven’t been to yet."

Plenty of folks here have Bigfoot stories, some first hand.

One resident, Jody Nichols saw one while he was deer hunting one morning.

He said, "It had walked up right behind a tree I was sitting up against. I saw the shadow on the ground and I jumped away from the tree and when I did, I mean it was standing there from me to this gentleman here."

Research biologist, Ranae Holland is on the show and she said, " I think it speaks to the human psyche, fear of the unknown. Every culture has some story of a wild man in the woods. The question becomes is there a real biological undiscovered species out there, or not. I’m fascinated by it. I want to know. That’s why I keep doing this."

Resident Ricky Salyer has always wanted to see Bigfoot.

He said, "I wish there was a big foot. I think it would be great for Mississippi or the whole country as far as that goes.".
