JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The roar of high performance engines honored the life and legacy of Jackson businessman Horace Slay during a cruise in to his dealership Saturday.

Cars from all over drove to the State Street auto dealership to remember the 89-year-old businessman who was buried January 6th.

The dealership was a landmark where a Little Red Corvette was parked atop a pole in front of the location.

Clubs of vintage, classic and muscle cars gathered there to pay their respects to Slay's memory.

"I'm sure he's up there viewing the festivities. We had over 60 cars with less than a weeks time to put the word out. I'm just so pleased seeing the cars, made me happy and then honoring my father. They couldn't have done anything better for me," said son Horace Scott Slay who was moved by the show of support.

The legendary auto dealer's son hopes the cruise in becomes an annual event and tribute?
