JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

More than 100 people attended a candlelight vigil at the State Capitol in honor of the unborn Saturday evening.

Pro Life Mississippi and Pastors for Life Mississippi hosted the event in the Rotunda with prayer then continued on the steps of the Capitol.

This was the 29th year the candlelight and prayer vigil was held.

Organizers say they light the candles on behalf of the unborn who can not speak for themselves.

They came as a voice against abortion, infant killings, euthanasia and embryonic stem cell research.

"Stop the one abortion mill left in the State of Mississippi and so there's just one here in Jackson, and we really believe that if all of the Lord's people, Christians across the state would take a strong stand that it will one day be closed soon," said Paul Nasekos with Child Evangelism Fellowship.

This year vigils were Saturday held in three locations Biloxi, Jackson and Olive Branch.
