JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Three On Your Side uncovered video of what appeared to be a student carrying a weapon on a school bus. Now, the Jackson Public School District is responding.

"Oh my goodness," said one Murrah parent.

Another parent, Jackie Williams said,

"Oh my goodness. That's terrible. That is just awful," said Jackie Williams, another parent.

A red laser beamed at the camera as a Murrah High School student is shown waving what appeared to be a gun on the school bus. Murrah High School parents were appalled when they watched the video for the first time.

"Whether it looks real or not, it's a scary incident. Especially for students, my child especially, who has not been around a gun, said another parent. "So, to see that, it's unacceptable to me."

"A gun is a gun," added Williams. "Toy, play gun, a real gun, it will make somebody scared so I am concerned about that for sure."

Waiting to pick her son up from school one parent said,

"I'm grateful my son doesn't ride the bus and that's one of the reasons he doesn't ride the bus," said a parent waiting to pick up her son from school. "He says there is no order on the bus."

The Jackson Public School District released a statement and said through JPS Campus Enforcement it was determined the gun was a toy. Regardless, parents were concerned about their children inside Murrah walls.

"I feel like he is safe, but because all of this is coming to light, there is some leeriness now and some uneasiness because I considered this school to be the cream of the crop for JPS," a parent added.

JPS pointed out the portion of the video showing the student in a hallway on a hover board with what looks like a weapon was not filmed on JPS property. JPS said the student is facing the appropriate disciplinary action.
