JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We're in for a cold night! Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20's by sunrise. Winds will go calm and that will provide the perfect recipe for a hard freeze. Be sure to protect your pets, plants and pipes.

Sunday: Expect lots of sunshine with highs in the mid 50s by the afternoon. The normal high for this time of the year is 57° and we should get pretty close to that! Sunday night expect mostly clear skies with temperatures falling into the upper 30s.

We'll start off dry and pretty comfortable on Monday. As the day goes by on Monday, we'll see more and more clouds move in as a cold front heads our way. Temperatures will be too warm for any winter weather in terms of precipitation. Afternoon highs on Monday will be in the low 60s. We have a slim chance of a few showers in the afternoon and better chance overnight into Tuesday.

Tuesday I expect to see showers the first half of the day. At this time, I don't expect any severe weather. Once this rain moves out, we're in for a few day of dry weather including next weekend.
