Girlfriend now sought in parolee's escape

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Mississippi Department of Corrections is now seeking the girlfriend of parolee Michael Lester Morgan as an accomplice in his escape Thursday.

Kimberly M. Sellars is wanted on a charge of aiding and abetting. She is believed to be traveling with Morgan.

The 44-year-old Morgan, escaped the Rankin County Probation and Parole Office in Pearl after a revocation hearing related to his Dec. 3 arrest in Hinds County on charges of possession of a stolen firearm, a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, violation of traffic ordinances, and possession of a controlled substance.

The two may be traveling in a 2012 4-door Acura sedan with the license plate “Breast Cancer Awareness Tag #1F19BA.”

Morgan’s parole was revoked for him to serve six months in prison. He now faces new charges related to his escape.

Morgan, 44, #102516, has multiple convictions in Rankin, Copiah, Hinds and Sunflower counties, including for producing a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a control substance with intent, sale of methamphetamine, fleeing law enforcement, and possession of contraband while in prison. His sentences total 23 years. He was last paroled on Aug. 4, 2014.
