JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

On Monday at 4 p.m. Governor Phil Bryant will sign a bill expected to make a significant economic impact in Mississippi.

At 10 a.m. Bryant was in Gulfport discussing the development of Edison Chouset Offshore's new facility coming to the coast.

The shipbuilding company's new facility will create 1,000 positions.

At 2:30 p.m. at Clinton High School, the Governor announced that Continental Tire will be built between Clinton and Bolton, bringing 2,500 to Hinds County.

State Senator John Horhn says within the next 60 to 90 days the site for the tire manufacturer will be cleared. The tire plant is expected to take three years to build.

Last week lawmakers made economic development history in Mississippi by agreeing to bring Continental Tire and Edison Chouset Offshore to the Magnolia State.
