Police arrest IHOP robbery suspect

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police officers responded to the IHOP Restaurant on Greenway Drive regarding an armed robbery of a business at around 6:30 pm on Tuesday.

During the course of the preliminary investigation, it was learned that an unknown suspect dressed in dark clothing entered the restaurant inquiring about a job. The suspect pointed a handgun at the manager and demanded money from the safe.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say no injuries were reported.

Detectives identified the suspect as 32-year-old Kevin Rogers and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

On Saturday, Rogers was taken into custody without incident.

He was booked in the city jail and charged with armed robbery of a business. He is awaiting an initial court appearance.
