Jackson State football legend Willie Richardson dead at 76

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Legendary Jackson State wide receiver Willie Richardson passed away on Monday.

Current JSU fans know him as the longtime radio analyst of football broadcasts along with his weekly radio show Talking Sports Live. Richardson had just as stellar of a career on the field.

He led the SWAC in receptions from 1959 to 1963.

Richardson was inducted into the Jackson State Hall of Fame in 1978. The Greenville native was a two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro selection. 

Richardson also played in one of the biggest games in NFL history.

He led the Baltimore Colts with 6 catches for 58 yards in Super Bowl III.

Willie Richardson passed away at the age of 76.
