JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The search continues for Hinds County inmates who walked away from a work detail around 1:30 p.m. February 10.

Deputies and law enforcement agencies have been combing the area where the escapees were last seen.

"To their friends and their family, give them up," said Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason.

The sheriff said the non violent offenders were picking up trash on I-220 Northbound and Forest Avenue.

They are 20-year-old Deundre LeShaun Pinkston of Byram, 31-year-old Gary Jerome Chambers of Jackson, and 24-year-old Jeremy Demond Jordan of Jackson.

Metro One and canine units assisted with the hunt in the wooded area off Forest Avenue.

Just around the corner on Methodist Home Road, seven units were parked in front of the vacant Jackson Wholesale and Building Supply Company.

Jordan was arrested February 5th and was serving time for various traffic violations, working off a $6,500.00 fine.

Chambers was arrested Feb 5th for false pretense and resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and contempt of court. His fine was $1,075.

Pinkston was arrested by Byram Police for speeding, domestic charges, public profanity and had a fine of $2,100.00.

Chambers and Pinkston were to be released in 24 days.

"When you got a guy that has only 24 more days left with you and has a fine, small fine, why be stupid and leave? So my thing is this, be very mindful we are looking for you and we will find you," said Sheriff Mason.

"All were wearing blue jumpsuits. They had shed their vests," said Mason. "Take note we're not playing with them. The county boys are back. So we're not playing with them, and I'm not too pleased right now."

Wednesday evening the sheriff said there was an active search, and he believed the three were still in the area.

Call the Hinds County Sheriff's Department at 601-857-2600 or CrimeStoppers at 601-355-TIPS if you have seen the three escapees.
