A bill has been filed in the Mississippi House of Representatives to designate the Holy Bible as the Official State Book.
“I am proud to say that we once again enjoyed bi-partisan support of this effort,” said Rep. Tom Miles of Dist. 75, lead author of HB 840, that has nine co-sponsors, including Rep. Michael Ted Evans of Dist. 45.
The bill has been referred to the Rules and Constitution committees. February 23 is the deadline for passing measures out of committee.
