CONSIDER THIS: Confederate Heritage Month

Source: WLBT Source: WLBT

Not only do we have to deal with a flag that is offensive to hundreds of thousands of Mississippians, now Governor Bryant has declared April Confederate Heritage Month.

As the saying goes, better to be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt. This proclamation certainly leaves no doubt.

Consider This:

We’re already thought of as a backwards, racist, bigoted, uneducated state falling near the bottom of every important, quality of life ranking. You’ve no doubt heard the popular phrase from people who live elsewhere, “Thank God for Mississippi.”

Keeping our current flag and now this unbelievable proclamation means they can continue to count on Mississippi as the example that things could be worse.

Seeing the confederate battle flag flying over our state capitol is wrong.

Governor Bryant declaring April Confederate Heritage Month simply makes things worse. For a state that claims to be the Hospitality State, these decisions are far from hospitable.
