A stolen truck is recovered after a Jackson police officer uses his cell phone to help the owner find it.
The vehicle was discovered at a gated home at 733 North State Street and within seconds, a heavy police presence was on the scene.
Police swarmed his large office building on north state street last night.
The owner of the vehicle said, "I did visually see guns and narcotics and things of that nature being brought out of that house."
The location on North State Street is where police and the owner of a Rankin County landscape business found the vehicle, stolen moments earlier from north Jackson.
A police officer used a tracking device to make a swift recovery.
"He pulled up his phone used an app and instantly located my vehicle and coincidentally enough it was found off of North State street just seconds from the police office down there."
Other vehicles were seen being seized at the rear of the commercial office building.
The car theft victim said he spoke with police on at the crime scene who told him, this was an ongoing investigation and by his participation as a victim, it inadvertently helped them crack what seemed to be a bigger case in downtown Jackson with drugs and guns.
