JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police officers are on the scene of an officer involved shooting.

The incident started at the Pilot gas station on Gallatin Street.

The owner of a 1984 Sierra pick-up truck called Jackson police when he saw his stolen pick-up truck at the gas station.

Jackson police officers arrived on the scene and the suspect driving the stolen truck backed the truck into the front of a JPD cruiser, smashing into the front of the cruiser.

Jackson police chased the stolen truck until the truck crashed into the woods on I-55 East Frontage Road.

The police officer shot at the suspect and hit him in the arm. 

The suspect has been transported to a hospital with one gunshot wound.

According to Officer Vance, crystal meth was found in the stolen pick-up truck.

A weapon was also recovered on Gallatin street at the Pilot gas station.

Officers are still investigating this crime scene.

The suspect's name has not yet been released.
