JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The FBI Jackson’s Child Exploitation Task Force arrested a Tennessee man on two federal child exploitation charges on Thursday.

24-year-old Wesley Scott Greene, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, was taken into custody by FBI Agents and task force officers without incident in his former hometown in Opelika, Alabama.

According to the criminal complaint filed by the FBI in U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Mississippi, Greene is charged using facilities in interstate commerce to entice or coerce a minor to engage in sexual activity, and traveling in interstate commerce to engage in sexual activity of a minor.

Agents transported Greene to federal court in Alabama for his initial appearance.

If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years to life.

The FBI is enhancing its efforts to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse by partnering the task force elements of the Innocence Lost and Innocent Images national initiatives in one Child Exploitation Task Force (CETF).

Their goal is to provide a rapid and effective investigative response to reported federal crimes involving the victimization of children.

The task forces strive to reduce the vulnerability of children to acts of sexual exploitation and abuse, and strengthen the capabilities of federal, state, and local law enforcement through training programs and investigative assistance.
