Make A Wish holds carnival for 8-year-old

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

There was fun and the thrill of a carnival Saturday for a little Jackson boy battling a rare cancer blood disease.

North Jackson Elementary student Kentric Stubbs Robinson took a limo ride to the carnival held at his school.

Jackson Police made him an honorary officer and presented him with lots of gifts.

The Make a Wish Foundation sponsored the festival for the eight-year-old.

Kentric has undergone chemo therapy treatments and a bone marrow transplant, spending many days in the hospital.

But the carnival helped take his mind off his treatment.

"Today we are getting a chance to celebrate Kentric and grant his wish. It's a community celebration, a community carnival where we get to come out and just honor him and celebrate this time with him and his family," said Make A Wish Mississippi President and CEO Brent Wilson.

Kentric has been out of school since September while undergoing treatment for cancer.
