JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It was just after 9 a.m. when Jackson police received the call that the Advance Auto Parts store on Northside drive was being robbed.
Local comedian Mike 'Da Comedian' Townsend was there and came face to face with the suspects.

He was the first to call 9-1-1. He later described the experience on Facebook live.

"I drove up," said Mike. "Old boy come across the street, he said, big boy you don't wanna go in there.  I said what?  He said, big boy you don't wanna go in there.  I said whatever I though he was playing cause I thought he knew I was a comedian or whatever.  Then he showed it to me, then he put on a mask, right there. I drove off and called."

Jackson police responded and quickly arrested two of the suspects in a black Nissan about a block from the business.

A third individual fled, officers gave chase through a nearby neighborhood. About an hour later he was captured off Hanging Moss Road.
Police say tips from multiple residents helped track him down.

"Great teamwork from our department with the officers on board, being observant, and also with the citizens who notified us," said Officer Colendula Green.

Police say one suspect tried to rob patrons of a nearby laundromat before his capture, but we're not sure which one. The three arrested have not been identified.

Residents who witnessed the crime and helped in the capture are thankful those responsible, didn't get away.

"This is whats going on in our community everyday, people getting shot, killed robbed," said Townsend. "If you see something go on and call 911. That's what they're here for."
