#5 Mississippi State faces Southern Miss Tuesday at Trustmark Park

STARKVILLE (HailState.com) No. 12 Mississippi State baseball (17-7-1) returns to action Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for a non-televised matchup against in-state rival Southern Miss (19-6) at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. Freshman southpaw Konnor Pilkington (0-0, 0.75 ERA) will start for MSU against USM right-hander Mason Walley (1-1, 4.26 ERA).

The Bulldogs are fresh off of a 2-1 series win at home against Georgia (9-2, 3-1, 8-11) and are 13-4 against teams with winning records this spring. The Golden Eagles are coming off a home sweep against UTSA this past weekend (6-5, 11-2, 13-2).

State is 78-37 all-time against USM. In their lone meeting last season, the Golden Eagles picked up a 3-0 victory in Pearl.
