Fit 4 change fitness program wraps up

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The 8th annual Paul Lacoste Fit 4 Change boot camp wrapped up early Wednesday morning.

WLBT/WDBD reporter/anchor C.J. LeMaster along with WLBT/WDBD digital content manager Mary Grace Eppes are two of the 156 people who completed the challenging twelve week fitness program.

Lawmakers, state employees and several members of the clergy were also part of the group. Workouts consisted of hardcore cardio and strength training four days each week. More than 3,000 pounds were shed.

"People say well I can't do it. I have excuses I can't do it. You can totally get out there. You just really have to try, you have to put forth effort and you have to make some changes. If you can make those changes then you can see a real pay off, a real difference," says LeMaster.

LeMaster says he lost 21 pounds.

The Paul Lacoste Sports 5K is scheduled for Thursday, April 7th at 6:00 P.M. at the State Capitol. The event is free, but donations will be taken up for Ryan LaSource, a local three year-old battling cancer for the fourth time. LaSource is also preparing for his second bone marrow transplant.
